Stars in the Sky Morning presents the texts of ten Newfoundland and Labrador plays created in the tradition of collective theatre and performed between 1978 and 1993. The plays include popular works by the Mummers Troupe, RCA Theatre Company (Resource Centre for the Arts), Sheila's Brush, Wonderbolt Circus, Rising Tide Theatre and a collaborative work by Innuinuit Theatre Company and the Nalujuk Players. This collective theatre is resonant of Newfoundland and Labrador life from the 1930s to today, with a glimpse back to the Island's seventeenth-century history. With dramatic innovation and artistic integrity, these plays show the depth and power of Newfoundland and Labrador culture while celebrating the love of home. Each of these works has contributed to the establishment of professional theatre which now exists in the province.
