Major-General Richard Rohmer is a practicing lawyer, pilot, best selling author of fiction and non-fiction (over twenty-five publications) and Chancellor Emeritus of the University of Windsor. During WWII, he was a fighter recee pilot who took part in D-Day operations June 6, 1944 and the Battle of Normandy. He later flew combat jets with the RCAF.
Richard commanded Canada's Air Reserve Group and then became Chief of Reserves of the Canadian Armed Forces. He is a Commander of the Order of Military Merit and an Officer of the Order of Canada. He holds the Distinguished Flying Cross, is a member of the Order of Ontario, and a Queen's Counsel.
